History 202: American Civilization II, From 1865 to the present. A history of the United States. American Civilization II is a survey of American history from Reconstruction through World War II. The goal is to give the student an understanding of the basic facts in American history with emphasis on the events and trends that affected the lives of contemporary Americans, and which contributed to the circumstances and position of the U.S. in the world today. We will accomplish this by combining a careful examination of the facts found in the main text with selected primary source material, and material found on the World Wide Web.
