Dr. Lorraine Moller
Dr. Lorraine Moller teaches a range of courses in the Communications and Theatre Arts Department at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Along with her most recent productions of A Few Good woMen, Metamorphoses and The Crucible at the Gerald W. Lynch Theatre, her directorial experience includes working with prisoners at Sing Sing Correctional Facility for men and Bayview Correctional Facility for women. At Sing Sing, she directed and co-directed several plays for and by the prisoners through Rehabilitation through the Arts. More recently, Dr. Moller is the Founder and Program Director of Theatre Arts Connection at Bayview Correctional Facility where she directed Colored Girls Who Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf. The Executive Producer of numerous student film projects, Dr. Moller is currently completing a film she directed and produced at Albion Correctional Facility for women about the importance of maintaining the bond between incarcerated mothers and their children, called The Visit. As a director and educator, she is both a practitioner and writer. Her scholarly research focuses on the use of arts in corrections.
