Homework 9
Don't
stop until you see "end of assignment" SHORT ESSAY QUESTION
For the first option, write a position paper responding to the questions posed above following the claim/evidence/warrant format. For the second option, identify a stereotype or caricature about gay characters and re-write a scene (a narrative synopsis or summary) to make it "realistic" for The Wire.
For the second option please also include one or two paragraphs (at most)
in which you explain the decisions that you made to make the scene more
realistic, giving details both on the changes that you made and why you
made them. If you choose the first option, be sure to organize your essay around a concise thesis that captures the entirety of your argument. UNDERLINE YOUR THESIS STATEMENT (points off if you do not). Your thesis should appear with the first two paragraphs of your essay. Again, be sure to use evidence from The Wire and this week's readings. Likewise, be to structure your presentation of the evidence around the familiar claim/evidence/warrant format. Be sure to keep your direct quotations to 10 or fewer words. See here on how to reduce quotations. WE
