 Instructions

Conduct frequency and descriptive analysis for variables fatpct and gender in the bodyfat file.

  • First look at Variable View and determine what type of variable it is, (i.e., continuous/discrete, nominal/ordinal/ratio/interval). You may not be able to tell from the Variable View window, but you may know the answer from the theory covered in the first and second lectures.

  • Determine what the variable's name, label, and values (if any) are.

  • Analyze Frequencies and Descriptives. (Take a look at mean, median, mode, sum, range, standard deviation for the ratio variable and analyze the frequency occurrence for the nominal variable).

  • Provide a bar chart (with percentages) for the nominal variable and a histogram for the ratio variable.

  • Write a paragraph describing the above measures based on the two variables explored in this exercise.
