Helter Skelter, written by Vincent Bugliosi and Curt Gentry, is graphic nonfiction depiction of the trial of Charles Manson and the true accounts of his premeditated murders. His “Family” cult, composed of murderous young women, physically committed seven murders at the Tate-LaBianca residences. Manson proclaims he never killed anyone, so he cannot be prosecuted for the deaths. However, Manson’s ideology strongly influenced those physically committing the crimes. Which ultimately leads us to question, “Can a person kill without a will of their own?”.
