I love teaching mathematics. Part of this comes from the fact that I love talking about mathematics--if you get me going, I might find it hard to stop. But I also love helping people understand, appreciate, use, and maybe even like the subject to which I have devoted my life.
Whether or not students like mathematics or feel capable of doing mathematics, I want them to feel comfortable talking about mathematics. (How many times can I use the word "mathematics" in one sentence? Evidently the answer is at least 3.) That being said, whether you're currently in one of my classes, took a course with me in the past, or haven't even met me, please feel free to contact me with your questions, comments, or concerns. I love getting e-mails, and I like hanging around in my (as yet nonexistent) office or, better yet, getting some coffee and chatting about mathematics--or anything else, for that matter.
