1) The author notes that the brothel ceased to be primary location of prostitution after the turn of the century.  How and why did this change happen?  (note that in describing this change, the author refers to the work of another historian).

Note: the above quotation from p. 77 is where the author introduces the idea in the abstract.  Your task here to is to find specific examples of the phenomenon the author describes on other pages and explain how the particular examples illustrates the author's broader idea.  So, you will need to read the whole reading rather than skimming looking for the answer.
