1) What does the word “paradigm” mean and how does the author use it in this chapter?
(you may want to read the entire reading before answering this question).
2) Using at least five sentences of YOUR OWN WORDS, summarize the three paradigms the author defines in the reading. (To be clear: I’m look for at least 15 sentences—five per paradigm.
3) Read at least the first three pages of this article from Vanity Fair.

Then, write TWO (2) carefully constructed claim/evidence/warrant paragraphs that explain how and why this article is an example of one of the three paradigms.
You might want to follow this formula:
The Vanity Fair article “Sex Trafficking of Americans: The Girls Next Door” is an example of what Ronald Weitzer calls the [choose 1 of the 3 paradigms] paradigm because [insert short explanation of reason here]. For Weitzer, the most important characteristic of this paradigm is [insert quotation here]. The can see evidence of this feature in the article when [insert quotation here]. [WARRANT THAT EXPLAINS HOW THE EVIDENCE SUPPORTS THE CLAIM]
Be sure that your paragraphs have at least 5 direct quotations total and that at least 2 direct quotations come from Weitzer and that at least 2 direct quotations come from Vanity Fair.
When writing your paragraphs, be sure that you:
1) place a (CL) before your claim, an (EV) before your evidence, and a (WA) before your warrant.
