Your reading and class discussions will make
much more sense to you if you are able to hang the new information
you will be acquiring on a geographic framework---otherwise,
it's just a sea of names.
Next class, I will present you with the map below and ask
you to locate 10 of the following items on that blank map.
I've linked to either Google-Maps or wikipedia entries that
I have vetted (as only some wikipedia essays
are accurate) for the location for each item below. For many
of the places, I've also linked to relevant excerpts from
trustworthy documentaries so that if you are not familiar
with the location you can get some sense of its nature and
importance. Although entirely optional, these short videos
are both interesting in their own right and provide details
that will help you memorize the location of the items below
for the quiz.
